The XTERRA TR150 Treadmill Review
The XTERRA TR150 Treadmill Overview
Is this happening? A treadmill under 500 dollars? Is it worth it?
So far, we’ve been reviewing some of the best premium treadmills available in the market.
Specifically, we’ve been dealing with the NordicTrack brand. The cheapest is the NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill—It’s slightly shy of the 1000-dollar mark.
Surprisingly, we came across The XTERRA TR150 Treadmill. It happens to be the best-selling on Amazon (We were shocked).
It comes with a 2.25 HP Motor. Honestly, that’s a “delicate” motor that won’t do well with heavier users.
Fortunately, it offers speeds of up to 10MPH. That is pretty decent for a treadmill of its price tag.
Sure, it looks and sounds like a decent treadmill. However, for us, it was all too good to be true. Therefore, we quickly went to the customer review section.
Once again, we were astonished. The TR150 Treadmill has tonnes of positive reviews.
Despite the plastic frame, many customers claim it’s durable.
Today, we’ll get to the bottom of this and find out, once and for all, if this XTERRA treadmill is worth it.

1. The 2.25 HP Motor and workout programs
We are still skeptical about its build.
Sure, it will be nice and firm when it first arrives at your doorstep. However, can you count on the plastic frame for all the heavy lifting? Will it maintain its quality after the first year?
Surprisingly, several customers claim that this XTERRA treadmill can hold up well even after two years of use.
Of course, we can’t argue with that. Nonetheless, we only recommend it to “lightweight” users (Under 200 pounds).
Next, we have the 2.25 HP Motor. At best, it is suited for beginner runners who are first dipping their toes into the water. We don’t recommend this if you plan on working out for more than an hour a day.
Finally, we have the 12 in-built workout programs. We like the idea. At least you can immediately start working out after unboxing.
On top of that, there is also one custom workout program you can tweak to your needs.
Unfortunately, the TR150 doesn’t come with a Smart HD Display.
Also, it doesn’t support wifi connectivity. Therefore, you can’t stream your favorite workout sessions. Nonetheless, that’s something you can fix by setting up a TV in your workout room.
“Is the treadmill noisy?”
No, it is not. It is surprisingly silent. It will only make some noises when you start exercising at speeds of around 9MPH.
2. The XTRASoft tread belt and incline functionalities
The TR150 comes with a single-ply tread belt. It has a tread surface size of 16″ by 50″. All in all, the size isn’t that bad.
Sure, it’s a bit small when compared to other treadmills in the market. Nonetheless, what more can you expect from a 500-dollar treadmill?
The tread surface also has The XTRASoft Deck Cushioning Technology. Unlike NordicTrack’s FlexSelect Cushion, you cannot tweak this one. The XTRASoft Deck Cushioning Technology aims to provide a sturdy but soft tread surface.
Of course, it’s a crisp feature to have, especially for those who are prone to joint-related pains and injuries.
The softness will reduce the amount of pressure exerted on your joints. You’ll be able to workout hardener and longer.
Finally, we have the 3-level incline functionality. Honestly, that’s a disappointing incline range. However, as mentioned earlier, it is sufficient for beginner light-weight runners.
3. Pulse monitors and the folding design
We appreciate the EKG HandGrip Pulse Monitors that come with this treadmill. Indeed, they aren’t as effective as heart rate monitors. Nonetheless, they will come in handy.
In addition to that, the TR150 Treadmill also has a foldable design. It is helpful if you are looking to save some storage space.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a “wonder treadmill” on our hands.
Usually, we strongly warn customers against cheap treadmills. At the very least, we advise them to go for 1500-dollar treadmills from reputable brands.
However, today we present to you the XTERRA TR150 Treadmill. In our opinion, it is the best 500-dollar treadmill for beginner runners.
Nonetheless, we still stand by our opinion. You should only buy this treadmill if it is your only option.
